So we're getting that good mountain weather here. sun was properly warm today, but the minute it goes down behind the hills, the temperature plummets. And we ran out of gas shortly after arriving, so the first 4/5 nights were very cold and we were all sleeping in the same room and I was proofing whilst they were all kipping in my gloves and parka and stuff like that. Stories for the kids, you know.

Anyhows we have this wood stove in the kitchen living room, and I'm obsessed with the fucker. There's an ample wood supply so we're not short, although it's been chucking it down a couple of times so you know, you're out there before that shit gets wet and you can't do fuck all with it, but it makes me feel like I could live outside, could I bollix, fuckin' city boy through and through, just because I can fit a gear set doesn't mean I know my arse from my elbow up the woods.

I digress. The wood stove. I'm learning, slowly, what burns well, what doesn't, coaxing the fucker along, and I swear it's so addictive I turned round to wizlette earlier this evening and said I see the appeal of an arsonist now. I can understand how a broken mind could get hooked on fire.

I swear, it's like sometimes I'm communing with the damn thing.

Next up, I need to learn how to shoot things and skin 'em. I mean, I can already ride horses. Pretty natty showjumper too, back in the day.

I once sat beside Shue at church in NH, the only time I ever went to church in NH. She was there to see her brother and she sat right next to me. She said hi and smiled at me as she sat down and then all I could think about was Leaving Las Vegas or whatever it was called. She had a sundressy thing on and I could kinda see her cleavage a little. Oh, and she smelled like apples, I think, or maybe it was the girl next to her.

What kind of church was it? Did you do the sign of peace thing? Because I think tongues are expected in some denominations.

I probably won't check the numbers till after class tomorrow. I've got to get my money's worth of dreaming out of the ticket and I didn't buy it till today because I didn't know how high the lottery had gotten.

Sidenote: now that Powerball and MegaMillions are basically everywhere, they balloon really fast.
