friends, enemies, frenemies: random thoughts outpost

Postby Marion » Sat Mar 12, 2011 19:08:08

Over on TheNest.com (a fun little message board for us ladies - don't judge) some girl posted this about a video her husband caught on their nannycam.

We have a camera/audio (nanny camish) on our laptop at home. (Don't ask, my dh is paranoid). Anyway, we rent and the owner asked if his realtor could come over to take a few pictures because he's thinking of selling after we leave in May. We said ok, so my dh left the camera on and the realtor and her assistant are totally groping each other and kissing on the floor of our living room. My dh just called to tell me. OMG!, There's audio too and it records!!!. They stopped and didn't go pass kissing but WTF. (They also b*tched that we had a baby and how the second bedroom is not as appealing as a nursery)

My dh wants to email the realtor the video. HAHA!

Bonus: The realtor is married and not to her assistant.

She posted stills (no video though). Unfortunately, the camera couldn't catch them when they were on the floor, but she said the audio picked up the activities.

"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "

Don't believe it. That "realtor" is dressed like a hooker.

I thought it was dickhead. She don't like her hubby.

dh=dear husband

And it's not her and her husband in the picture. She posted another picture of them "re-enacting" one of the stills.

Maybe you're allergic to plastic fork prongs.

The Liverpool message board I read is really neat. There were a few posters in Egypt during their uprising, and now there's a guy posting updates from Tokyo.

Apparently the stores have been mostly cleaned out by shoppers (think forecasted Delaware Valley blizzard to the nth power) except there's still a lot of beer in stock. Which made our correspondent happy.

So I'm coming around to the sad realization that "change your clocks, change your batteries" is pretty much dead, due to advances is battery technology, economics, and plain old human apathy.

The recommendation of NFPA and CPSC is to change the batteries "annually". But I think that message is way to vague to effect compliance. So my task now is to come up with a meaningful reminder message.

Should I stick with the clock change thing- "spring forward to new batteries", or 'fall back on the protection of new batteries"? Or abandon the clock tie-in algother with something like....well, i'm coming up empty here. Looking for something that's memorable (not "oh, i was supposed to do it on arbor day? when was that?) but not too busy ("yeah right, I'm supposed to wrap four hundred christmas presents AND change my batteries???".

Thanks for the input. Although I'm just one guy, if there's something great that comes out of this, rest assured I'll push it forward to the powers that be, 'cause right now they got 'nothin......

Also, can somebody please tell me a good reason not to give up on the lady friend? She kind of sucks these days, but not always in the best way.
