Regardless, I think we can all agree they are all idiots for having a $250 heating bill.

It's not necessarily their fault. I used to live in an apartment with electric heat; our bills in the winter were always upwards of 200 and our place was still cold. PECO doesn't accept "WTF?!??! it can't possibly be this expensive!!" as an argument.

Right, but there is no reason to have the heater running all the time. It doesn't have to be 70 degrees in your apartment.

Mine was $293 this month which isn't bad for a house in a really cold month but the thing is I'm always cold in the house

What are the chances TNC has ever paid a utility bill? One in 200?

I can definitely see a bill that high happening if you're renting a big, poorly insulated house with crappy windows.

Back in the day, I lived with 2 dudes, we split up the bills, I paid the heat, and the other dude paid electric and the other dude paid the cable/internet. It worked out pretty well until winter, I was the first person to leave for work every morning, I'd turn the thermostat down before I left, the dude who paid for the electric started turning the heat up WHEN HE LEFT FOR WORK. He was the last one to leave so he would turn the heat up to like 75 WHILE THE HOUSE WAS EMPTY. I didn't know this until the $400 bill came ( I was working a second job from Thanksgiving to Christmas so I didn't get home until late at night) I got pissed off and told him if he wanted to eff with the heat like that then he could pay for it. So he agreed, and I took over the electric. He then put a lock box over the thermostat so me and the other roomie couldn't adjust the temp. like 2 days after he put the lock on it his girlfriends cat got sick and they had to take it to some dumbass cat hospital out of town for a weekend, he left the heat on 50 while he was away. So I moved out. I showed him.

****Epilogue****

The ass-bag in this story later went on to marry his girlfriend I mentioned in the story, and then several years later he was arrested for animal cruelty, he had apparently beaten and severely injured / killed several of his then g/f and now wife's cats with golf clubs. The news story said that the original cat, the one from the story, was his first victim and he claimed his innocence in the news story blaming it on his roommate who up and moved out (me) right after the incident occurred. The police rightly saw through his ruse as the cat didn’t live at the house when I did, and the abuse continued for years after I moved out. Moral of the story, fuck that guy.

Couldn't you have broken the thermostat lock?

or....

So, what's Michael Vick really like?

oh sure, we could have broken it, but I was still pissed about the thermostat thing to begin with, and he kept trying to accidently walk in on my G/F in the bathroom and stuff like that. He was just a creep through and through.

As for the Vick thing, he's worse than Vick. Vick did it for money, I don't agree with it, but I understand it. This dude did it because... he enjoyed it? Oh and he has kids now. I thought that was messed up, the court barred him from owning pets, then shortly after that he and his wife had a couple of kids. crazy.

How did you meet this guy? I ask because it seems like if you knew him longer than 20 minutes then you could tell he was pyscho.

I went to middle school and high school with him. Then we worked together, we were never friends or anything along the way, just knew some of the same people. He was pretty much just generally quiet whenever I knew him. Once we started living together I realized he was compulsive liar.

WTF, did the cops ever question you about this guy after he implicated you?

Also, the winter gas/electric bill in my 1 bedroom condo is about $250 a month. The building's about 3 years old. I don't think TNC know what he's talking about.

Wow, that might be even worse than one of my ex-roommates, who knocked up two women and abandoned them both, brought home a dog he wasn't capable of caring for, stole from our other roommate, and failed to fully pay me back after I foolishly lent him money.
