I'm not much of a coffee drinker, so I've never just picked up morning coffee. A friend told me Iris Cafe is good, but it looks kind of far from you for just morning coffee. There's lots of Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons right near the hotel. There's 2 bagel places nearby named La Bagel Delight and Montague Street Bagels. I've been to 1, but can't remember which. It was good enough.

Being a lawyer is glamorous. Yesterday I got to tip-toe through a backyard filled with two months worth of turds from two 100 lb. Golden Retrievers. Today I got to drive 35 miles in three hours just to find out a case had been adjourned due to weather.

As long as we are talking about fast food places, the one I really miss is Roy Rogers. I still try to hit one whenever I am going West on the Turnpike or South on I-95 to Maryland/DC. They were always my favorite. There are still a few free-standing ones (read: non-rest-stop locations), mostly in Maryland and Northern Virginia, but I did manage to hit one in Connecticut back in 2006 on my way back from Boston.

There were two Roy Rogerses around my area when I was a kid. One of them is now and has been a Boston Chicken/Market (Willow Grove) since that franchise first appeared, and the other is some kind of pizza joint (Warminster).

In my sillier moments, I think it would be awesome to own a Roy Rogers franchise and help bring it back. It was so much better than McDonald's, BK, etc. And I even like the Whopper.

RR was our big hangout growing up. There was one by school, one by my place, one by my best friend's place, and, it seemed, one near most of the places we'd hang out.

We would commandeer a corner table and gorge ourselves/shoot the $&!( for a whole afternoon. The food was way better than McD/BK/Wendys, though one friend inexplicably liked their "Strawberry Shortcake," which was just strawberry filling and whipped cream poured on top of one of their biscuits. Gross.

I do occasionally make sure to hit the rest-stop ones (Also NY State Thruway and NE Extension, in addition to the ones you mentioned.)

Very few clients will pay for travel time anymore.

When I was in high school and for a few years after, Pica's was one of the post-drinking stops we used. I went back just a few years ago and it may have been the first time I was completely sober in that joint. Anyways, I always liked the place. But Marion is not alone. A lot of people don't care for the pizza there.

Yeah. It used to be alright, and like 10-15 years ago they had a square pan pizza that was pretty good. But the last time I had Little Caesars it was quite bleh.

I can confirm this. There are 2 Little Ceasers in Grand Forks. They suck.
