It seems that ear tubes are indicated when there is fluid in the middle ear (Otitis Media with Effusion), rather than just having Acute Otitis Media. Because the former can lead to speech and hearing issues. Hearing tests are indicated before proceeding.
I'm not anti-surgery or medical intervention, just interested at looking at all sides before proceeding.

Yeah, they "effuse" almost every time. Thanks for the heads up on the hearing/speech issues, we'll definitely do a lot of research before proceeding
