Overall, yes, it's pretty cool. I'm in retail pharmacy and all of the OTC buyers are in cubicles nearby, so there's a seemingly endless supply of sample drugs and vitamin/herbal supplements around. I got a few reccomendations from pharmacist co-workers and feel pretty ok right now.

The policy is still bullshit, though.

my moms job is the same way. if you want to get paid for the holiday you have to work the day before and the day after. so if the holiday is a friday, you have to work the saturday afterwards. its complete $#@!

Wow. That's even worse than mine. For us if the holiday is on a Friday you just have to be there Thursday and Monday.

the general rule re: sick time and managerial America is, if you want a quick & dirty manifestation of the tension between management and employees in US enterprises, get and scan a handful of employer leave time policies.

Try telling that to UPS drivers

I didn't know this was a widely known fact. My Dad worked for UPS for many years, in the spirit of which we're designing routes for my new driver daughter that consist solely of right turns.

My grandpa does this, and will go well out of his way not to make left hand turns. He was not a UPS driver, he's just weird like that.

The original title for this album was Don't Be a F*ggot but Columbia Records flatly refused to release the album with this title and pressured Russell Simmons (their manager and label Def Jam head) into having the Beastie Boys to come up with another name. Adam Horovitz has since apologized for the band's earlier title

Has anyone bought a bag of Sun Chips lately? Their new bag is incredibly loud. Picking up the bag or grabbing a handful of chips sounds something like a snare drum being pounded right next to your ear.
