Was the Annapolis question prompted by the new job posting at the Naval Academy?

It was! You applying?

No, but that's where I work. I had just read the email posting that went out shortly before you asked.
"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "

Do you think they'll get millions of apps? I'm not totally qualified, but close enough that I'm gonna throw one out there

I don't really know. Probably. It's probably a pretty desirable job what with it being a nice location (both Annapolis and the Academy) and a federal job.

I'm not a federal employee. I actually work for a company that contracts to the Academy for IT services. But coincidentally, I just happen to work in the library.

I dunno, but I used to get that a lot. I don't remember how I fixed it.

Glad I could help!

I don't know any specifics--but, civilian employees of the DOD (you will have to learn all the acronyms) do not wear uniforms. Though if their GS is high enough, in some cases they are allowed to join the officer's club (However, this probably won't be the case at Annapolis, as it civilian employees are generally only allowed to join when the base attached to the OC has too few officers to support a club.)

ummm wtf

Abel Aguirre, 38, of Chelsea was convicted yesterday of animal cruelty for having sex with his roommate’s rabbit, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said. He faces up to 2 years in the House of Correction and a $2,500 fine at sentencing today.

Aguirre assaulted the rabbit June 1, 2008, district attorney spokesman Jake Wark said. Aguirre’s roommate told investigators she came home and found blood and clumps of rabbit fur on the bathroom floor and a claw belonging to the bunny. In Aguirre’s room, she found a used condom with rabbit fur on it. The rabbit was injured and bleeding.

“My jaw hit the floor,” one juror said about the disturbing testimony. The rabbit has died, but not of its injuries, Wark said.

Is Whole Foods even trying to be "healthy" anymore? All they seem to sell anymore is piles of caramel and potato chips.

I've never quite gotten the appeal of Whole Foods. As you point out, it's not especially healthy, it's expensive, and it doesn't come close to the selection of a Wegmans.

In fact, I was in Little Rock this weekend, and went to Whole Foods. I figured, well, surely they'll have stuff I can't get in my small town Kroger or Super Wal-Mart. But really, the Little Rock store is small, and poorly stocked. Even the produce was meh. They did have the apple juice I was looking for though, in one gallon bottles, which was convenient.

I guess I just don't quite get it. (Hardly the first time that's happened.) It's not really a foodie place, like Wegmans. It's not really healthy, and not everything they have is organic either.

I think all their brand stuff is the organic stuff, and then they have other name brands, some are and some aren't organic. it's not a health store though. I like them b/c they have really good deli stuff, much better than the stuff I can get at Superfresh. I don't go there that often though

I generally agree. However, if you have a kid with alot of food allergies, it's probably the best place to go for it's variety and depth of products that cater to that issue.
