The conversation was going fairly well, but she mentioned that she needed to leave to beat the traffic in the middle of the 9th inning. Being very green to hitting on women, I asked her out on a date (rather than asking her for her number--screw up #1) and she said "no." So, I offered my number (screw up #2), and she said "sure" entering it into her phone before leaving.
Obviously, she hasn't called, but I learned enough about her to easily find her profile on Facebook. Thing is, if I send a message and/or friend her, it'll probably be too strong of a move and drive her away. However, the poke in this situation is much more innocuous, saying "I remember you," and leaving my intention much more in doubt.

You "poke" someone when they haven't updated their status in a while. It's the way of saying "hey, im thinking of you and was wondering what you were up to" without actually saying it to them. If you get poked, update your status.

I think I could do it.

Not resetting my alarm every morning to sleep till 10 probably wouldn't hurt either.

Quitting drinking, or at least cutting down a lot, would probably help too.
