The topic changes are really saving Palin. Biden keeps cornering her on points, and then Ifill asks a new question.

This is not a coincidence, and as I said a few pages ago, it allows her only to chirp the talking points and run down the very short clock.

They get a little patience at the very least. Or sent back down. We'll see if she was called up too early.
