What does it even mean when Seth Rogan says I have 19 kids and I didn't even use abortion once?

That was about 4 minutes too long. I couldn't make it to the end.

Aw. Woody misses me. I was in DC all last week and didn't have time to be on the board. Last I checked in was a thread or thread and a half ago. What did I miss?

Multiple accusations that I drove you away from the board.

What did you say that I was so offended by?

Don't ask me. I was wondering the same thing.

I was out of options, plus we had two Palin jokes in a row.

I had one non-snarky thought about the debate tonight:

Joe Biden, pretty much without question, knows John McCain a lot better than does Sarah Palin. I also think it's probably fair to say, with no offense meant to Palin since it's simply a matter of serving together in the Senate for more than two decades, that Biden is much more familiar with McCain's positions on a wide range of issues (and can track their peregrinations).

If used right--and if Ifill turns the debate in such a way that it's about the presidential candidates, as you'd assume she will--this is another potential big edge for Biden.

If McCain's really pulling out of Michigan, and I see no reason to doubt that news report, I guess his maximum EV total right now is 293. Bush - Iowa + Wisconsin and New Hampshire. Basically needs to hold everything. This whole economy going in the crapper thing must have done something nasty to his internal polling in Michigan.

My interest in politics and the election has kind of plummeted since this economic nightmare. I wonder if turnout will be affected in november. If it is, its sure to hurt McCain more, and he's not doing so well with the whole economy issue to begin with.

I'm very nervous. On the face of it, Biden should easily reveal the amateur that Palin is (and I'm being kind). But the McCain campaign knows that -- no amount of boot-camp will protect her from doing more than merely 'seeming to hold her own', that's the best they can hope for. OR -- to bait Biden in to some hyper-bolic outburst that offends the gentile across the heartland?? How can they let her go out there? Something smells fishy, very fishy... do they have some way to de-rail Biden, take him off the main issues. Do they know just how to position her with all fluff and sound bytes and avoid exposure on lack of details. He's so far beyond her as a politician, I can't believe they are allowing her to debate at all. And so, I'm very very nervous, because they must have something up their sleeves, and I'm sure the Dems won't see it coming.

the debate is in biden's hands, really. palin will most likely do fine. not show stopiingly good, but i doubt she crumbles. the questions will be pretty basic, Ifill's role will be pretty unimportant. biden can either be a competent veteran senator or he can be his other half, which is to say, a train wreck who says very very weird things sometimes.

They coached her well. And she won't have to do anything but stick to the talking points, thanks to the format changes.

Reminds me of Bush in the 2000 debates, actually.
