I don't think he should be worried about the non-voting populous right now..

I had an otherwise intelligent woman tell me that there is no rational reason why someone who voted for Clinton wouldn't vote for Obama because Clinton and Obama have similar stands on many key issues. I mentioned to her that all Democrats don't agree with either of the candidates and that there are Democrats who are Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, and agree with the Republicans on some issues while agreeing with the Democrats on others.
I mentioned that not everyone votes on issues. Some Clinton supporters might see Obama as too inexperienced or question his competence or think he's naive or simply not like him. Some Clinton supporters might be closer to McCain than Obama but supported Clinton because they were women. She dismissed these reasons as possibilities and said that anyone defecting to McCain had to be racist.

Enlightened.

The theme runs thicker than syrup here, despite limp protests to the contrary or "shocked" surprise that anyone would suggest such a thing. Gonna be an interesting six months, I wish we could just call the thing for him now and get it over with.

I'm sure there will be racists who won't vote for him, but he sounds pretty politican to me and I suspect most. I think most people will vote on issues and perception -- who they think is most suited. Of course, the media manipulates on a daily basis so perception will continue to shift as the media does their magic. There are of course pockets of the country where people are registered, will vote, and are not particularly worldy or educated and who knows what their rationale will be?
