Why does it take so freakin long for a deposited check to clear in your account? I made an ATM deposit last Friday after work and it's now after midnight on Tuesday morning and it's still "Pending". I CAN HAZ 1ST PAYCHEK PLZ

So it got picked up from the ATM at 3PM today (Monday). I assume "after work" means post 3PM Friday (unless you're me). 8) "business" days and all that. Depending on the Fed district of the drawing bank, you will see your cash anywhere from Tuesday-Friday. I'll go ahead and assume you've already filled on the direct deposit paperwork and are just waiting for that to kick in....

PNC has pretty much one of the worst deposit availability schedules of any bank I've ever dealt with. If you have a Commerce Bank near you, check them out, next day availability on most checks, free ATM transactions at any ATM and a pretty transparent fee structure, unlike PNC.

USAA Bank lets you deposit checks at home, which post to your account instantly. All you need is a scanner and high bull shit tolerance.
