"Anal Fissures" would have been a GREAT name for a punk band.

I really hope this grad school thing works out for the good.

I also really hope the cable guy doesn't keep me waiting all day tomorrow.

The wife and I ate at the one in Willow Grove a couple years back and I was not that impressed. It may have been just one of those nights. I will try again though.

You know statistics show that the majority of graduate degrees aren't worth the financial investment.

That's not the only reason to go, but its worth considering.

I got the phone number of a girl named Missy last night. I think I get some points in the book of life for that.

"I'm wearing black tonight!"
"What do you usually wear?"
"Ummmm...... pink! Or purple!" (true story)

Missy usually wears pink or purple, or are you talking about two separate women?

And, more to the point, are you going to call her? She sounds like she could be fun.

I must have been about 10 (so it was more than 30 years ago) when I puked up one of those things. All over the porch. Truly impressive vomit.

I think you'd have to control for subject area--I mean, getting a PhD in some academic subject, or an MLS or MSW are not degrees one pursues because those are lucrative fields.

Law degrees and MBA degrees, by contrast, should enhance one's earning potential.

Though lately, I've been hearing more noise about how for many law school grads, the amount of debt they've accrued and the fact that lots of lawyers have starting salaries in the 40k range makes it a poor choice.

My experience has been that all females named Missy, which is usually not the birth name, but an adopted nickname, tend to be pretentious, shallow, and materialistic bitches w/ great bodies.

This makes me feel better..as I decided to take a year or 2 off before heading to graduate school, but in that time my desire passed me by.

I think taking at least a year off between undergrad and any grad school is a good idea. Grad schools are filled with people who are there because they don't know what else to do. It's an awfully expensive way to "find yourself".

While I believe a college degree shouldn't be vocational, grad school is vocational. You go to grad school only because it fits into your career plans.
