Heard this team is just not good.


Right....goalie change and 3 Puck miracle in the 3rd yet they are great again.

They're like a Chip! Team that can actually score points to keep them in games. Otherwise...not impressed so far.

They won't be playing a bottom five team at home that gave them three PPs to tie it very often. Definitely need to play better going forward but that's an important come back victory.

They have been missing 2-3 starters every game. Historically slow starters as well. Just keep treading water.

They actually look like they have a switch to turn on this season... that hasn't been the case for awhile

For me the biggest takeaway early is the offense. Adding Konecny and getting good Jake V back has made a huge difference. Not to mention Matt Read's resurgence which I'm less hopeful of continuing. It's crazy that our top 2 lines are all signed for at least 3 more seasons. Look out for LW Oskar Lindblom next year too. He's having a fantastic season in the Swedish league as a 20 year-old.

Hockey though, if you are a 6-8 seed, you can make a run much more than being a lower seed in other sports... as an 8 last year against a historical Caps team, we played pretty bad and still had them on the ropes in the first round... where a random goal here and there could have moved us on... as a next step, regular season, a 2nd or 3rd place in the division would be nice but if you set the precedent on getting in every year, once in awhile momentum at the right time can push you right through the playoffs

I think that's where the Flyers end up but this defense must play better. Streit/Amac are awful

Pens, Rangers and Capitals are all much better regular season teams, can't see them getting to 2nd or 3rd this year. I guess if everything went right they could fight for 3rd, but I think you are looking at 6-8 again. Don't trust Mason to not get hurt for a whole season and Neuvirth hasn't looked great.

I think their problem will still be offensive depth from the forward position
I would rather see you lose than win myself

I don't think Morin will be on the playoff roster, he could be brought up for games here and there. In that scenario, Schultz would be the last defenseman.

I like the forwards when they are at full strength. I have to go in theory since we haven't seen it yet. Plus you have to factor in what MDZ brings to the offense.

This. They were legit dogshit through December last year. The day Hakstol was hired it was drilled to us how his teams start slow and finish strong. They played that script last year and nearly knocked out the 1 seed. Not sure why the sky is falling all of a sudden. Typical Philly overreaction.
