Jaylen Brown may turn into a fine player for the Celtics but, as I said last night, by all accounts Danny Ainge made a conscious decision that he wanted Jaylen Brown more than either Okafor or Noel (and maybe more) and I just think that's crazy, especially given his stated desire to improve the team now. On top of that, he could have chosen Dunn over Brown and acquired a guy the Bulls seem to crave if they are going to move Jimmy Butler, who Ainge reportedly tried very hard to obtain. That also seems crazy. There was undoubtedly a whole lot going on we don't know about but, based on what we do know, his choices seem very, very strange.

I think that shows that the Sixers most likely weren't offering Noel for 3

I was just talking to a Celtics fan co-worker who said that she kept hearing the Sixers wanted 3, Crowder, and another 1st rounder for Okafor and basically had the bizarro version of Sixers fans' experience last night

ESPN got WOJ bombed

ESPN drew a 2.4 overnight rating for the 2016 NBA Draft after a record-setting 3.1 in each of the past two years.

The draft was considered weak and the first two picks, Ben Simmons to the Philadelphia 76ers and Brandon Ingram to the Los Angeles Lakers, were known in advance.

It was the lowest rated draft since 2012.

Adrian Wojnarowski's The Vertical ran a competing simulcast with analysis, news and the announcement of picks before ESPN on an online stream that received positive reviews.

A Yahoo spokesperson told Awful Announcing Friday the almost-four-hour stream drew 3.7 million total video views, reached more than 2.8 million unique viewers across all devices, and averaged 34 minutes of watch time per user.

ESPN's coverage averaged 2.994 million viewers compared to Yahoo's total number of viewers.

I was cool with Jalen even though he's not really well versed on a lot of the prospects. he's just a funny guy that makes me smile - that's important for entertainment. Wilbon seemed like a drunk guy at a bar by himself. Not his avenue. He'll probably get replaced. The Vertical guys were very good, but they made mistakes where if it were ESPN there'd be nerd pitchfork posts on BSG. One guy kept calling Sam Hinkie, Sam Presti during one segment, for example.

Isaiah Thomas is hilarious in this Jaylen Brown interview. Usually don't like him but seeing him kinda loose gives me some insight into how he keeps getting jobs.

I thought the ESPN coverage was pretty solid. I was entertained. I usually don't like Jalen too much (hated his segments on that bball show Simmons had) but I kind of like him as the voice of "old school" or whatever on Thursday. I really like the surprise of hearing the commish/commish jt call the picks so the internet is kinda ruined for me on draft night
