hard to believe Villanova will be a FF again next year. Ochefu had some serious game and Archie was better shooter than Bruns-son. The Reynolds is nowhere near Ochefu -- but I'm sure they will be well coached, confident and play good defense. They should be competitive. What I'm hoping, is that this helps recruiting for the following year. If Jay gets that national rep and respect, it could pull some talent in or keep some around.

If you're a stud from North Philly or West Philly or South Jersey - you want to go to main line or out of state to some powerhouse big name joint?

Even Wilt Chamberlain went to Kansas. Gathers and Kimble to Loyola. Gene Banks to Duke. Billy Thompson and Milt Wagner from Camden didn't play locally. Rasheed Wallace didn't stay around. i'm trying to think of college stars let alone college guys who had NBA careers, that came from Phila/So Jersey and played locally ??

Temple had Eddie Jones, Mark Macon and Aaron Mckie - I think Eddie was from Florida and Mark from Detroit - McKie?

Nova guys to make NBA ? Kerry Kittles, Pinkney had a small career.

In some ways its easier to snag a guy from out of the area. If I'm a stud coming from the 'hood I'm going to UCLA or Miami or something -- get me to nice weather and out of town.

I felt like the 1988 Temple Owls should have been a FF team. Went in to the 64 ranked 1st in nation. Poor Cheyney 5 times he got stuck at Elite 8. Never had a FF nor a magic season, 88 was his year...

CBS Sports Network has replayed the game several times but that won't help overseas. I don't have a link to the full game but here are the highlights:

I thought the Big 5 was a brotherhood. My Temple friends and family didn't share my enthusiasm for a state team winning the title. Geez

Moriah Jefferson is one of them girls you wouldn't want to play in a pickup game with. Congrats to UConn, it's been a whole year since your last one.

Breanna Stewart is way taller than her mom and dad. I thought one of them had to be a big athletic freak.

For a long time, Freshmen couldn't play Varsity ball. That explains a lot of it. Walton and Alcidor certainly would have done it amongst other UCLAns.

UConn women win every year so you'd think this would have been done already.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

IIRC, UCLA'S 1965-66 freshman team with Alcindor, Lucious Allen, Mike Warren and Lynn Shackelford beat the defending championship UCLA team in a scrimmage prior to the season. Had they been eligible, they would have easily won the NCAAs that year.

That is correct. Alcindor was pretty unstoppable.

A UNC fan started a petition on Change.org to overturn the title game result and have the officials investigated. Has about 1,700 signatures at the moment
