Nah he went back to bad Tobey tonight. No finishes at the rim, fumbling balls, bringing rebounds low. I was fine with him on the bench.

Joel Berry mvp. He mightve missed 1 shot in 2 games against us.

It's ok. The refs didn't take away your competitive advantage!

I find it hilarious when a Carolina or Duke fan complains about ACC refereeing giving some other team an advantage.

UNC's defensive was impressive. Totally shut us down in the last 10 minutes.

Think both teams will get 1 seeds. Think Virginia will get the West 1 with the Pac-12 champ getting the 2. Carolina gets the 1 in Philadelphia with Villanova 2. Kansas gets Chicago with Xavier the 2 and Michigan State gets Louisville with Oklahoma or West Virginia the 2.

UVA fan makes comment about refs. Somehow it becomes a Duke UNC thing.

I was referring to 1) your competitive advantage comment and 2) the below quote from earlier in the thread:

We get calls, especially at home. I admit that. I just find it funny that Carolina and Duke fans are complaining about it since those teams have been getting calls from ACC refs for decades.

That was so impressive. They have to be a 1 seed. They have the complete package. I think they can win the whole thing.

this year will come down to how the committee views each conference given the lack of teams that have truly separated themselves from the pack. Oregon's entire resume is built off in-conference wins; the same of which can be mostly said about UVA and UNC (with the exception of wins against Nova for UVA and Maryland for UNC).

I'd have the conference ranked close to this: Big 12, ACC, Big 10, Pac-12, Big East

Big 12 - 4 teams in KenPom Top 20 (3 in the top 7)
ACC - 4 teams in KenPom top 20 (2 in the top 4; Louisville is the 4th team at #13)
Pac-12 - 2 teams in KenPom top 20
Big 10 - 4 teams in KenPom top 20
Big East - 2 teams in KenPom top 20

I wouldn't go that far at all. (BTW, UVA also beat WVU during the non-conf. And Cal, but that's not much of a resume win IMO.) There's a world of difference between UVA/UNC and Oregon's non-conf schedules.

KenPom NCSOS:
UVA 55
UNC 99
Oregon 171

Here's the full breakdown of the top 10:
Kansas 94
UVA 55
Mich Stat 209
UNC 99
Nova 79
WVU 142
Oklahoma 136
Kentucky 67
Oregon 171
Purdue 267

Only one team in KenPom's top 25 (No. 12 Wichita State--25) had a better NCSOS ranking than UVA. Carolina's is definitely above average for the top teams. Oregon's is pretty bad by comparison, even if there are plenty of other top 25 teams with worse.

UNC is going to get a 1 seed in Philly with Nova as the 2. I know UNC travels well but that's going to be two road games to get to Houston.

Oh I agree that Oregon will (or should) be a 1-seed. Honestly, conference championships should mean something.

It's a weird year that we're having a serious discussion about whether a 7-loss team that won neither its regular season or tournament titles deserves to be a 1-seed over the PAC-10 champ.

no chance the committee would punish the #1 seed like that

In 2011, Duke was the 1 seed in the "West" Region which was played like an hour from Arizona's Campus. Arizona was the 3 seed and it will always be remembered as the "Derrick Williams goes apeshit" game in the Sweet 16.

Anaheim is not an hour from Tucson. Try 8.
