This is the worst I've ever seen. The only way this is remotely plausible is if we interpret "helping my sister with the wedding" as meaning "going to the titty bar with my future brother in law and getting stinking drunk." But even that shouldn't require missing a week of class.

CUE BANJO MUSIC: Arkansas wedding require lots o' ammo and booze, don't they? Procurement, delivery and set-up can takes days.

Most Arkansas weddings are really simple low key affairs--you can't spend much money of course, as the average Arkansas girl can expect 3-4 wedding before she turns 40. As a result, there's typically a short ceremony, followed by a pot luck in the church social hall. And since we're usually talking a Baptist or Methodist church, there will be no booze and certainly no dancing.

There was extenuating circumstances, in my eyes I guess, but she was/is pissed.... still........ of course when my other sister gets married I probably won't attend that one either, for fear of insulting the other one. I think I could've been a much more balanced individual had I not grown up in a house full of women ....for years my father and I were held hostage..althoigh we're pretty close because of it...but I sure would've liked a brother to grow up w/.

I had an older brother who wanted and engaged in none of the duties of a "big brother." Still pretty bitter about it.

I've never been to a funeral that didn't involve at least a little booze.

I didn't attend my sister's wedding either. Didn't even think about it. It was going to be lame, and I'd have had to take off several days of work, on a weekend, when I actually make money. F that. Got her a nice bottle of champagne though.
