Not a single player with upside. You needs old vets to teach the youngins, but it's nice to see a few players who might realistically take a step forward and become a useful player. I know everyone wants those guys, but it would be nice to see a few of those about now. This offseason is depressing so far.

The offseason has barely begun. We have not even begun to uncover the depth of the depression that you will encounter.

Guys with upside usually don't sign minor league deals on November 13th.

Not true. Most teams pick up an All Star or two by now. Everyone except Amaro and the Phillies that is.

There is a helluva a lot of things wrong with the Phillies and the organization. Getting upset regarding minor league contracts doesn't make much sense to me.

I know, but there won't be spots left if we fill all those spots now. But really I was just lamenting a depressing start to the offseason. We could use a guy or two with upside to lift our spirits (or my spirits, to be more accurate)

Really? I don't spend much time worrying about it, but it's another potential area to improve the team. I like improvements.

I'm just surprised RAJ only gave Frenchy a minor league deal, rather than a 2 yr Laynce Nix-type deal.
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."

I love improvements too. Minor league FAs are by far the least likely way to improve the team. I'd rather they sign a Japanese guy or a Cuban. Maybe manage to trade for someone good. Sign a surprise Free Agent who is actually good. These types of things do happen.

Minor league free agents? Not really.

I've never disliked him, even when he was a Barves. I like his laser arm and he's a handsome fella who looks like my brother.

Sucks he's actually been decent for the major league team.

I was upset initially that he was here. Not that I'm glad he's here now or anything, but at this point I just don't GAFF since nothing matters anymore.

By what measure?

He's below replacement level. He makes outs 72% of the time. He's terrible. Seems like a nice guy, but he can't hit.
