I think we were all skeptical when we brought in Berube because at the time, our biggest problem was almost a complete lack of scoring. The offense was terrible the first 10-15 games, IIRC, and they bring in Craig Berube to fix that? However, you can't argue with the success. G shook of whatever slump he was in and has been great. Switching Vinny to the 4th line was genius. He deserves a lot of credit for turning this team around.

berube's system stresses more defensive responsibility for the team it seems. lavy's was more run and gun with the (not very good to begin with) defense getting involved too much. i was thinking the other day how much that win streak to end last year hurt the team. it likely saved lavy's job, leading to an awful start and pushed their draft pick down quite a few spots.
