The rest of the forwards minus Vinny are exactly the same player...they are muckers and grinders. In effect, 75% of your forwards are the same. And Vinny is out for a while because he's hurt.

The defense is a mess. Timonen is cooked, he is so slow now. Coburn is an idiot. Streit gives you little defense. Grossman and Schenn are exactly the same player.

So yeah, they are this bad. There's also a serious lack of leadership and accountability with the entire franchise.

As I said, historically bad team.

Yep I'm an asshole for stating that a 1-7 team with a dead man walking for a coach wouldn't make the playoffs.

Berube deserves all the credit in the world for getting this collective to actually perform well. Giroux returned to form and Mason has been a revelation.

And they still might miss the playoffs...they have one of the toughest schedules in the league to get through.

played some golf today so I had to DVR it and just finished watching. what a fucking game. I'm a surprised there wasn't more uproar about Coots getting curbed by Orpik. Flyers looked fucking great today. Lets do this again tomorrow.

the coach was fired already.
you didn't say they'd miss the playoffs. you said historically bad. they are 31-18 in regulation since you said that. i don't believe that is historically bad.
i'm not sure why both of you just to the they might miss the playoffs defense. this isn't about that. you were terribly terribly wrong about them. i don't think they are all that good it's just funny how wrong and assholy you were.

The true shame of it is they let that clown Laviolette start the season which is exactly what led to 1-7. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite them.

Everyone with more than two brain cells realized the team collapsed on him at the end of last season. He should have been sacked then, but Holmgren never really has had exquisite timing with these decisions.

If he can continue to improve his skating, he has the potential to be the best defensive center in the league. He's already in the top 10. I don't think you'll ever see him be a 30 goal scorer because his shot just isn't good enough, but he's a good passer and makes good decisions.
