kinda reminds me a bit of grossmann. blocks a ton of shots, gotten for similar trade value, terrible advanced statistics, re-signed in the offseason. will be hated in 2 years

A 2nd and a 3rd-round pick is also what the #Flyers gave up to acquire Nick Grossmann in 2012.

That means we'll advance deep into the playoffs but every back-breaking goal allowed will be his fault

That being said, I don't mind the trade. Just don't want him re-signed to a ridiculous contract

if you defend timonen using his corsifor% then you should hate this move.

Brutal giving a second and third for what is hopefully a rental.

holding on to a small bit of hope that they are getting a 2nd for mez, so it turns into a slight upgrade and more cap space for a 3rd.

We're taking a chance on a guy for two picks, in a league that probably has the greatest crapshoot of them all in terms of later round drafting. We owe him nothing past this year.

You get the guy for nothing, the Flyers have had no significant second or third rounders make the team in forever. He's probably had shitty coaching and his morale is shit playing for the fucking Islanders.

I like the deal. Holmgren would have fucked up the draft picks anyway.

well thats kind of dumb considering they trade those choices away like skittles. and fwiw, they grabbed stolarz and gostisbehere with 2nd and 3rd choices in 2012. its easy to say that the picks don't matter when they can't scout so well past the 1st round where it's easy to clean up on choices

i don't consider a 2nd and 3rd "later" round picks. him being a ufa makes it dumber to give those picks up, not better. if homer flips mez for a second, i'll change my mind. was mostly taking a shot at corsifor%.

Well, let's give the guy a chance here before we bury him. Different team can mean a different system, different results.

The last second round pick that even made the team was Andreas Nodl in 2006. The last third round pick to make the team was Marc Andre Bourdon in 2008. Both players made minimal impacts on the big club.

The last second round pick of note was Janne Niimmaa in 1992.

Sorry if I don't get all upset they traded a #2 in this years draft and a #3 in 2015. Both picks would have been nought, just by probability using their past picks as a guide.

And when Stolarz and Gottabethere make it to the big show, I'll start to change my tune.

Let's not question Homers eye when it comes to trading or signing defensemen.

5th in the league in total time on ice says something at least.
his age is nice too.
the looming overpay is not.
