"Was Boston a fairly old team last year? They did fairly well. They weren't a young team. They had older guys."

boston was the oldest team in baseball, at 28.7 y/o. We weren't too far behind at 28.4 "Young talent" is a whole different thing, i'd think

Vegas says the Phillies should be a bit further to the right and is in the 10-13th worst range, not the 3rd worst.

so technically he is right, but I think a larger % of our average age was comprised by actual starting players vs. the Sox

also, typical Ruben. Technically correct, contextually off course. i don't even know what that means

The Sox were pretty old across the board, actually, with Papi far and away their best hitter at 37. But they were strong across the board

If you take weighted average age of each AB and IP, the Yankees were the oldest at both batting and pitching.

For batting, the Doyers were 2nd oldest, Phils 3rd. Boston was 5th.

For pitching, the Blue Jays were 2nd, Boston 3rd. Phils were 12th.

Raj on philly sports talk today saying not to expect any more big moves from the phillies this offseason. Said they were concentrating on some bullpen and starting pitching depth.

Burnett is a starting pitcher. The dots have already been connected.

@magelb: Hamels had biceps tendinitis. Could throw a bullpen in 10 days. Started throwing a month late. No MRI.
