That was news a couple months ago. Basically the injury wasn't as bad as they thought when they cut him open in January and the recovery time is only 6-8 months.
I just read this article. This is the type of thing that makes me appreciate Amaro and Phillies ownership at least a little...

The way the entire thing is being handled is a complete cluster fuck. Can we like wait until 2015? Christ, Selig. I think they approved the weird playoff system for this season on like April 2nd.
