I listened to a good portion of the Mets broadcast on the way home last night, and I have to say, their radio guys are downright entertaining.

Brett Lawrie completely lost his shit after Bill Miller made two wretched calls on Ball Four and Ball Five. After getting tossed, he threw his helmet at Miller (sure, it bounced first but still).

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/26972/is-brett-lawrie-the-boston-tea-party-of-the-robot-umpire-revolution (embedded video)

Unfortunately, Lawrie's reaction will undermine the fact that Miller completely crapped the bed on the 3-1 pitch, then probably rung Lawrie up on 3-2 b/c he felt Lawrie showed him up by heading to first on the previous pitch. Pitchfx shows the 3-2 as being closer than it looked live though.

I know a lot of their fanbase didn't like the guy they let go this off-season (Wayne Hagin). I guess his replacement is better. Always liked Howie Rose though.

EDIT: I now see his replacement is Josh Lewin. So yes, he is better.

Thought Justin Upton would have an MVP type year. He's been dreadful so far.

Getting Young back soon should hopefully help.

right now the Braves would be the East division champ, the Nats would be the first Wild Card, and the Mets would be the second Wild Card. the Phils are 1.5 GB of the Mets, behind the Marlins and tied with the Reds

Any mention of catdaddy should be required to post the Kate Upton video.
