First game I went to was the first Mets game at CBP. We lost big.

Went to the windy game at home vs Braves. Lost.

Went tonight. Horrible.

Not only do they lose but they play argubably their worst games.

I'm done.

hey man, i went to the halladay bobble head night and then the next night when gorzelanny shut them out. they didn't score a run for like 17 consecutive innings on my watch.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

FWIW (nothing) Keith Law has the Phillies taking California prep RHP Peter Tago in his mock draft, citing that the Phils like to draft on tools vs polish and have taken high ceiling arms with makeup concerns before in the 1st (Drabek).

Also says that he's heard they are interested in Russell Wilson, NC State's starting QB but also a P/2B as a possible late round flyer

I also heard Smuggo was on his way to California to meet with this kid. Will Rubes stab his alma mater in the back? Is there any doubt?

Parents went to MIT and Stanford, might be a tough one.

He sounds he fits the mold. Toolsy, HS, good makeup. Another 1st round-projected prospect with ties to the Phils is Brandon Workman from UT....they drafted but couldn't sign him a few years ago and he's had a great year for Texas' CWS favorite squad

I thought I remembered reading that Anthony Hewitt is a major smarty also... taking college courses in the offseason, etc.

Manuel wouldn't specify what the injury was... but Carlos Ruiz did. He said his right shoulder has been ailing him for a month.

But it was apparently much ado about nothing, according to general manager Ruben Amaro Jr.

"It's been bothering him, but nothing too serious," Amaro said.

Q: Did a team doctor seen it? MRI done on it?
Amaro: "Not at this point. Everybody gets sore. It's baseball."

Q: Can it be managed by giving him day off here and there?
Amaro: You guys are making too big of a deal out of it.

Q: That’s the same thing you said when lidge had first cortisone shot at end of March.
Amaro (getting sarcastic): "Ok, he's going to have an MRI, it's blown out. Four (bleeping) tears. He's just getting a day off because he's sore."

Q: He'll be back tomorrow?
Amaro: I would think so. But he might not be.

Smug much? :)

This guy:

Has this to say about the Phils thinking in potential trades

Amaro won't make any predictions for this July, but others in the organization predict another starter will be tops on the Phillies shopping list. And while it's far too early to say with any certainty which starter they would pursue, think more along the lines of a Joe Blanton (the 2008 addition) than Cliff Lee (the 2009 pickup).

Of the pitchers who could be available this July, think more along the lines of Jake Westbrook, Ben Sheets or Kevin Millwood, rather than Lee or Roy Oswalt.

One person familiar with the Phillies suggested Wednesday that the team might be best suited getting a pitcher from a financially challenged team that needs to dump a contract. The Indians, who aren't drawing well and could have two starters on the market (Westbrook and Fausto Carmona), would fit.

There's a real possibility (maybe even a likelihood) the Phillies will eventually re-sign Pedro Martinez, who started for them late last year, and in the postseason.

Perhaps that will be enough. Maybe this year they can get away without giving up players in a trade for pitching.

"Frankly, I hope we don't have to do a whole lot," Amaro said.
