You know guys, this is what it must be like to have been a Yankees fan in the late 90's. You get the guy you want and keep all your best prospects.

Pedro is at least a week away from being able to pitch for us, right? That buys you a little time to evaluate him (and Moyer) and see what's what. I'd hold tight.

Is this bigger than CC? Not literally bigger because CC is so fat (lol)!

This deal is the anti-Abreu deal.

It's just nice not to be on the receiving end of a fleecing for once...

I, for one, welcome our new Cy Young Award winner Cliff Lee...and he can sit with our World Effin Series MVP Cole Hamels and talk about things, and stufff, and circle changes.

One benefit of Lee over Halladay is that he's cheaper. If the Phillies were prepared to spend the $$$ on Halladay, maybe they can divert that towards draft picks.

The past year few years we get average pitchers who come here and pitch very well in the second half. So what happens with someone who is already awesome? Will he get more awesome?

Man the Indians are dumb! Oh well, the Sillies still won't make the post season and they will end up dumping half their team next year anyway.

still won't make the postseason? i forgot about the division championship in 07, the world series in 08 and the 7 game lead as of now.

Pedro's got incentives based on relief appearances. With the bullpen depleted, maybe that's where he can help the most. Unless, of course, Happ going to be a lefty in the 'pen is more of a help. Either way....one of those guys goes to relief duty. I like this all around.

Pleased to get a legit SP. Pleased we kept top prospects, like everyone else. BUT -- disappointed we didn't get Doc. Not sure why? Toronto asked for too much and wouldn't be realistic? I still think Doc is a superior player that really was the closest thing to a sure thing, we could have acquired. But Lee has pedigree as well, slightly concerned about his numbers this year moving the wrong way -- but hope new scenery on a winner will get him back on track.

Demonstrates that Phils brass likes being on top, and is trying to stay there. Can't critique the deal, it's a good deal. But still wonder if we over-value our prospects -- and in doing so, we let Doc Halladay get away while still pitching at top level? Doc could win 24 games for the Phils, let's hope Lee is a diff maker THIS year and next.
