Tom McCarthy is a Mets fan. He is a Mets fan. Seriously. he called "Ashburn Alley" "Mike Piazza" for heaven's sake. Send him back to New York where he belongs.

The Phillies will most likely chalk any negativity towards McCarthy up as a way of grieving for Harry. I hope not since I think the faults are so obvious that anyone should recognize them.

Probably true, but there's an easy counter-argument: nobody has a problem with Franzke or Sarge, and we know and have (more or less) forgiven Wheels for his sins.

he probably meant it in the sense that he hit it to norristown but was too dumb to convey it in that manner or wanted to schlob an ex-met, the latter i'm guessin.
