I avoided looking at any scores until the Newcastle rebroadcast on FSC. Congrats on the demolition job, jersey. And that Arshavin goal was disgusting.

Nothing really fantastic about the Newcastle-Hull game, Bassong and Steven Taylor looked good, Coloccini looked terrible.

Arsenal comes to SJP next Saturday. I'm hoping to see a midfield of Taylor-Nolan-Smith-Gutierrez, but I doubt Chris will sit Nicky Butt. Ryan Taylor has to get big minutes, he's far and away the best we've got for free kicks. Nicky Butt doesn't contribute much, yet he's established, so I don't think our best midfield will be put out there. I'm not sure it really matters who they replace him with, but Coloccini is terrible. He had a play today where he was man on man on a break away and he ended up going for a tackle in the box and not getting the ball or the striker, somehow recovered quick enough to get back on the man before he got a shot off, then went all out on a flop.

if we play like we did today, we should tear you guys apart. i dont think you have near enough pace on the flanks to mark Arshavin and Walcott for 90 minutes.

Yea, no question. Jonas has his games, so he might be able to handle one of them. My guess is we play tight and pin our efforts on scoring on a set piece, possibly trying to push the pace late in the game if it's still within reach. Tons of yellow cards are almost a guarantee.
