haven't paid any attention to the standings but was surprised to see they passed the penguins (who do have 2 games in hand). they must suck. it's pretty crazy they don't visit philly until march.

i mentioned it before, but i'd love to land ryan johansen. no idea what his contract is or if they could fit him. would really add the offense they need as second line center.

Penguins are a fabulous train wreck.

We are still not in great shape wrt the salary cap. Too much dead weight for a few more years (Umberger/Vinny/MacDonald are the main culprits, plus Jake's huge raise kicks in next year). Not sure how they could swing a deal for an actual useful offensive player (whether that's via trade or the Stamkos dream in the offseason). It's good they got Hartnell's deal off, but we don't see those savings for a few more years still. Pronger's deal is a huge weight off the organization, but Hextall has done almost all he can do right now. It's just a waiting game. Keep playing well and adding quality players through the draft.

I will echo some earlier sentiments. I'm so sick of the Schenn's.

Yeah I also read that. Ghost can't go anywhere, he's too good, so Laughton is likely. Or they can try to trade L Schenn or something

Yeah they look like a totally different team with ghost in the lineup. His overtime performances alone warrant a roster spot

the hartnell deal was awful. thought it was dumb at the time and it still is.
