Salary cap is more of a concern than trade cost IMO. After today, Flyers have 59.6M committed to 16 players next year. Weber's cap hit is roughly 7.8M. After rumors of a 71M cap next year, I believe I read somewhere that there are rumblings it could actually only be 68M.

Yes, they are saying possible 68. And that 59.6 doesn't include Pronger I believe (I know, LTIR). Still have to sign Gus, Schenn and McGinn. Would hope they try to move Vinny this off season.

Homer says they would've gone longer than 6 years on MacDonald's deal if necessary because of his age. They did it now so it's done and over with and Mac can concentrate on the playoffs

Mac says if he was still with the Islanders, he would've looked at the Flyers as one of his FA landing spots this summer anyway. He turned down 4/$16M+ earlier this season

I think this will pick up steam in the offseason. Predators are a mess. Can completely rebuild with the right package for Weber

It's not gonna happen. Preds said yesterday that Weber will "definitely" be back next season. Trading Weber probably wouldn't be the worst idea for them, but they're not going to.

Flyers have a logjam at Center, which leads me to believe that either Brayden or Laughton is dealt for a defenseman, especially if Timonen retires.
