I never was more excited and pumped about an HR then after Stairs homer in gm 4 of the NLCS. That fucking thing was launched. It was majestic. It was beautiful.

Everything from Myers walk through Vic's GS. The best moment of the playoffs. After the Phils manhandled big bad CC, I knew that this was a team who could beat everyone. He was the best pitcher in the universe for a few weeks, and Shane Victorino, who is not much taller than me, hit a freaking grand slam off him. And I was there, and had an awesome view from the RF area and I could see it was going out the entire time as long as it stayed fair.

Jesus what an amazing moment.

That was the only game that I got to attend during the playoffs and it was insane. I had standing room only right on the first base line, and it got so crowded that I was actually standing on the base of the column so more people could see. That perch made me about a foot taller than anyone else, so when he hit that slam, it gave me a great view of the absolute pandemonium in the crowd. Never seen anything like it. Then I almost fell off and broke my crazy neck, but I was able to steady myself. Best sporting event I've ever been to.

I strained an oblique cheering for that one. The Future Mother of my Children was asleep, so I had to make up for the lack of audible options by punching the air as violently as possible. Hurt so good.

I still have that game saved on my DVR; every couple days or so I queue up the Stairs home run and watch it frame-by-frame. I've isolated the 17th frame after contact as the instant Mary Hart's jaw drops in shock. All of the isolated crowd reactions are hysterical (including a couple overjoyed Phillies fans).

i was at the who concert that night. it was the only phillies home game of the playoffs i had to miss. i think it happened during "won't get fooled again". i swore they pinch hit for blanton, and i even told that to the guy in front of me who was asking me for updates from the mlb iphone app. i was able to see the game in someone's suite far, far away from my seat. it was fun to watch the news spread all around the arena.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

My biggest recollection was telling the people around me I would take a dump in the middle of Ashburn Alley if Victorino took Sabathia deep.

I didn't, but I have never yelled so loud in my life. I really think that's when I knew they weren't going to lose.

I was in sec. 103 for Game 4 of the Series (the guy next to me ended up with Howard's second home run ball after several deflections), and I thought my heart was going to stop when Blanton went deep. I started to yell, but nothing came out right away. It was both scary and exhilirating

I made the trek to LA to attend games 3 and 4 of the NLCS, and I (obviously) most vividly remember the period leading up to the two homeruns. I was so depressed during the seventh inning of game 4 that I was actually thankful they didn't play God Bless America because, quite frankly, I didn't have it in me to stand for the song. The moment Victorino stepped to the plate, I knew he was hitting one out. I had the same feeling when Stairs made his appearance. The trip went from an unmitigated disaster to one of the greatest experiences of my life in a 15 minute stretch.

En addendum: I also fondly remember the trip home the following morning. I flew out of Burbank and you could just tell that Dodgers fans were defeated. I was wearing a Phillies hat and got stuck to a guy who sort of resembled Jonathon Broxton on the plane. I could tell the dude wasn't thrilled to be sitting next to a Phillies fan. I bought a copy of the Los Angeles Times that morning and will save it forever.

Just watching Game 4 of the NLCS at home was such an emotional rollercoaster. I can only imagine what being there felt like

The stairs HR for me was one of the greatest things I've ever seen

He hit it so hard and I came to the realization that is was definitely a HR so fast, that I pooped pee'd and threw up all in one motion

Game four was on at the same time as the Giants imploding against the Browns. I was pretty much ready to put my fist through my TV till those homers. I absolutely lost my mind on Stairs' shot. I've probably seen it 200 times now, and it really just doesn't get old.

The disappointed Joe Buck, "Stairs rips one deep into the night!"

Then later, "This is a devastating turn of events............... for Los Angeles."
