I think it's premature to call it "major" surgery. Right now, it's a hip scope. Whether it becomes major surgery depends on what they find and what they do while they're in there.

So, I guess Donald starts the season at second base, puts up an OPS of 875, is shifted to third when Utley gets back, and the Phillies only win 104 games en route to their second straight title. :-D

Well that settles the question of Chase playing in the WBC.

I was sweating this until I remembered that we have Jason Donald. Utley = Wally Pipp.

Don't you mean "sent down when Utley gets back?"
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

Didn't Niittymaki have a torn hip labrum? He wasn't out no 4-6 months.

This can only be good news for dogs. (Since Utley is the Anti-Vick.)

It depends on what they find when they go in there. Sometimes a torn labrum isn't the only thing that needs to be repaired.

As long as this isn't casued by some kind of Bo Jackson hip disease, it's no big deal. It just shows you how awesome he is. He was able to hit .286 .375 .456 .831 from July to the end of the season without a hip.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.
