I just emailed Fitzpatrick about this article:
http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/sports/ ... grace.html

I asked why he's harping on the negative when we should be celebrating - and doesn't being negative at a time like this perpetuate the "boorish" behavior?
He shot back with, "to ignore it, is to condone it."

I completely disagree - everyone reasonably mature (and sober) person knows smashing windows and burning things is wrong and dumb - but it happens - but we iz partying!!!

to be honest, at one point last night i think i was trying to tip my own car over.... who cares, from what i saw the destruction could have been much worse

anyone writing an article on it is an attention hungry monger.... while everyone else writes about the championship they will be one of the few who are trying to standout being a ass turd... get a life and go burn something losers

In West Chester two cars were flipped, one stop light ripped down, several street signs stolen, and one lamp post ripped down.

His conclusion is silly. The common denominator isn't beer but jerks. There are sober jerks who vandalize and pillage and literally millions of drunk fans who just cheer and high-five.

The captions all say "Phillies" phans. But I think one guy in this picture is wearing a Mets shirt. Kill Him!

Last night, in the cold weather and hot anticipation that preceded the resumption of Game 5, I counted the number of places where you could buy beer along the main concourse at Citizens Bank Park.

I stopped at 47. (By the way, there were two places selling books. What does that say about sports fans?)

That they don't read instead of watching the game?
