They aren't going to let Butler and Harris go unless they find a suitable replacement. They traded too much to get them and they are going to be over the cap soon anyway, so they won't have the money to spend on anyone else.

I'll start to worry if they lose Monday, until then I still think Sixers in 6.

I like sticking to being right, works best for me, which is why it happens so often. 8-)

Not sure about that. Can the coach place these guys in better positions to succeed?

Ben does a ton of great things, but he is also the cause of the overwhelming majority of problems this team has in the half court. Like 70 percent is either directly or indirectly a result of his unwillingness to shoot, which shrinks everything.

How much of that lack of development should i lay at Brett’s door?

I don't blame Brown for the performances of JJ Tobi and Simmons today. NBA coaches can only do so much this isn't the NFL. Tobi missed open shots and JJ and Simmons were a mess.

I think the #1 priority in terms of adjustments is figuring out ways to get better 3 point attempts. Some of the 3-25 was luck but the Sixers just weren’t getting open enough.

JJ didn't have many open look misses. that's a reason my doesn't-know-much-basketball head feels like coaching is at least partly involved here. nets had a gameplan that worked. sixers had one that was working early a bit (get to the basket and draw fouls) and then for some reason stopped.

defensively this was a mess.

Only benefit I am willing to entertain

Early foul trouble on Ben and JJ had a massive impact in that both were extremely passive on D because of it.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

I think it’s definitely fair to say they need a better game plan next game.

This is my thought. They need people to stretch the floor and he's completely unwilling to even try during a game. My question is how much does he work on it? Is he spending extra time in or after practice trying to get better at it or does he think he doesn't need to do it? If he's spending the time and isn't getting better, that's one thing. If he's not putting in the work because he doesn't think it's his job to shoot jumpers, then that's another problem.

Thank you for this, Trent. For all his wonderful traits and talents the entire team has to twist into a pretzel to accommodate his shortcomings.

Brown does also need to make tactical adjustments with our starters vs nets closing lineup. Not like redick and Harris were turning down or missing a lot of open shots. They completely shut down the redick embiid DHO. We were unable to get embiid going against Nets small lineups in 4th. Up to brown to adjust

Just wish we could talk about the coaching without it being a *constant* referendum on whether the guy should keep his job.

Yeah I think it takes a guy winning it all like Doug with the Eagles to get to that point, and even then it only lasts for so long.
