Anyone have any experience with these wireless HDMI receivers?

http://www.trustedreviews.com/dvdo-air_ ... ons_Page-3

The DVDO one seems to be the best one out there.

The idea is you hook up the small receiver to your TV, and then somewhere less cluttery and conspicuous you can hook up the other end of the receiver to the cablebox, stereo, Xbox, etc. In my case I'm gonna put all of that in a closet. You sync up your remotes with their receiver, and since it's radio frequencies, it can go through walls with out any interference.

Sounds awesome but I'm curious to see how it is in action.

Haven't used one, but have read a lot of positive things about them And I'd trust DVDO to make a good product and stand behind it.

just ordered my work laptop. chickened out and went with PC instead of mac. I run too many custom windows apps for performance analysis and modeling.

quad core, 32GB, 250GB SSD. It's like a 1998 Cray in my backpack.

What are you smashing atoms over there or something
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

something like that. We take these huge performance files from several huge disk arrays and model them on new hardware.

one of newegg's specials yesterday was 2x8GB sticks for $59. FIFFY NINE DOLLA. unbelievable.

I use the Klink app to use my unlimited data plan to power my PC internet

anyone know if I'll be able to make this same connection with a Google Nexus 7 tablet? I'm worried I won't be able to get the app running on the tablet side

didn't realize how small it was. I don't really need it that huge (no way around that one) but 10'' seems a lot better than 7''. I also really like the keyboard dock as I want to be able to write cover letters. also just seems to have generally better specs. price difference between the Nexus (250 for 16GB) and Asus (320) seems worth it for those three things

also, more ports

Could wait for the surface too. The RT tablet should come in around 300.

I think they'd have to aggressively price it to compete with the iPad. 3-400 max for the RT and 700-800 for the Pro. RT will be out with Windows 8 on Oct 26th in theory.

In an interview with The Seattle Times, Ballmer believes Microsoft has a "very competitive product from the features perspective," with Microsoft Surface, and that "probably $300 to about $700 or $800" is the "sweet spot" for pricing.

from a tablet perspective, It's definitely a wait-and-see if developers adopt a third platform. Else you may end up with a cool tablet that you can't do much with. Just like what happened with Windows Mobile.

Well given that it's built around windows 8...especially the pro models, I'd think it'll have significant support.

I'm kind of in the market for a tablet and I'm definitely waiting for the iPad Mini and the surface to drop before I make a decision.
