So I called in and informed him it was The 4 Lads (it was on one of my dad's cassettes he would play in the car when I was younger). It wasn't a contest or anything, but to thank me, he sent me a CD of the Sundays "Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic", which contains the song you quoted.
