got back to the firehouse like 10:15 saturday night from a fire. dude had a calzone, so i started jonesing. Called 5 local places- all closed, despite 4 of them advertising hours until 11 on weekends. Finally found a pizza place that had stromboli but no calzone. it was pretty lousy.

Nah a large calzone or stromboli is typically served in the same box as a large pizza. It might be slightly heavier but unless you open it at the shop I doubt you'd notice a difference.

this is correct. they came and delivered the calzone. I was hoping they'd just say "keep the pizza" but they took it back.

Calzones have more slide then a pizza. You should know.
