wait. Why would 'space force' use a 'next stop mars' slogan? Isn't this a (comical) defense initiative?

I also heard that some of the logos use a version of the space shuttle, which is outdated, out of scope and retired for several years.

Obviously I have a pervy mind, since I can't help sexualizing the Mars awaits one. Thoughts and prayers that these are just connected to fundraising and not to any "official" choice of logo:

Most tasteful one is, of course, the straight out copy of the NASA logo:

LOL - I posted (and deleted) literally the exact same images, albeit slightly smaller, while swish was fishing his message. My only difference was noting that "Mars Awaits" is the text, not whatever I said previously.

I keep adding to the list of those who ignore me. It's getting pretty long.

I've seen the second Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh is a great guy because I am not in politics (pssst, your doing a political commercial) and he's a swell pal who only does right, good things.

I was not so suspicious of the first young lady who clerked for ihm, but the "teacher" seemed to demonstrate a great deal of poise, and professionalism in that very polished ad. I am not so sure she really is who she says she is. Besides, if she is a chum, why would I care what her opinion is.

Trump now ahead of Reagan in approval rating at same point in Presidency according to 538 aggregate , and almost certainly will be ahead of Clinton within two weeks. I'm surprised we haven't been washed away in the tweet storm, but I have to admit I haven't been checking regularly.

Heard reporting that they’ve been talking Don out of pulling Meuller’s clearances. Also, he wanted to discontinue security briefing to Obama.

I’m honestly more than a little surprised that Obama still gets a security briefing? Do GWB and Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter get one too?

I do not think that it is a daily event, but rather a regular occurrence so when a world leader 'checks in' there is some awareness of what is happening internally and externally. Also I think that when former presidents are traveling abroad that they get details briefings. Situational awareness and policy briefing I suspect.

Also, I think it is provided for all past presidents.

oh, they can target people who aren't Democrats?! it's almost like this should be a bipartisan concern:
BOSTON — The Russian military intelligence unit that sought to influence the 2016 election appears to have a new target: conservative American think tanks that have broken with President Trump and are seeking continued sanctions against Moscow, exposing oligarchs or pressing for human rights.

In a report scheduled for release on Tuesday, Microsoft Corporation said that it detected and seized websites that were created in recent weeks by hackers linked to the Russian unit formerly known as the G.R.U. The sites appeared meant to trick people into thinking they were clicking through links managed by the Hudson Institute and the International Republican Institute, but were secretly redirected to web pages created by the hackers to steal passwords and other credentials.

Microsoft also found websites imitating the United States Senate, but not specific Senate offices or political campaigns.

The International Republican Institute’s board of directors includes several Republican leaders who have been highly critical of Mr. Trump’s interactions with Mr. Putin, including a summit meeting last month between the two leaders in Helsinki, Finland.

Among them are Senator John McCain of Arizona; Mitt Romney, a former presidential candidate; and — though he was silent on Mr. Trump’s appearance in Helsinki — Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, who was replaced in the spring as the White House national security adviser. General McMaster, who is now retired, had been the author of the national security strategy that called for treating Russia as a “revisionist power” and confronting it around the world.

Here is the reason behind DJT saying that California can't get water to fight forest fires:

Hundreds of California farmers rallied at the Capitol on Monday to protest state water officials' proposal to increase water flows in a major California river, a move state and federal politicians called an overreach of power that would mean less water for farms in the Central Valley.

There is a bit of a 'Big Ag' angle looking to secure water rights. It is honestly a sizable problem since a good big of your veg comes from CA. While it is also true that CA has led the way in water redirection making their desert green. One would think that there could be something done, that will comes at some expense, that could put the agricultural concerns at ease while also protecting another food source, if we want to reduce a (tasty) species to that.
