Stocks like this in the absence of news are volatile.

Esmo phase 1b/2
Dec two phase 1 compounds
April the phase 3 study reads out.

Long term investors look at stock sales as buying opportunities.

The pro writer said what I said originally.

The weak hands are selling.

If you bought this stock for the future at $200, and are worried about 20%, you were just gambling.

Take that to the casino and lose it fast some think that is more fun.

If you had been investing in spy since 2013 are now 25 and are ready to rent cars, get married, get promoted, and invest in individual stocks then this pull back is a great time to add to imgn.

In past years this was a trade. Sell at ten, buy below six, and more if it went lower. BUT ALWAYS SELL AT 10.

The 252 heavy hitters now own the stock. They are all long term investors.

Even if the ESMO readout is negative, they are in it for the revenue, not the trade.

Positive results here and two in Dec will not change the revenue projections that much.

Positive studies will increase expectations for the pivotal phase 3 trials ahead.

Waiting is fine, just so you know why you bought.

Trade or investment.

Read the Motley fool articles.

Actually they have quite a number.

Keep in mind Cramer thinks this is the sell off.

All stocks first follow the crowd. Mutuals get redemptions and have to sell.

I am not sure how Cramer called the selloff after just one day.

That is why he is Cramer.

Day two confirmed the selloff.

Beats me if Cramer's TEN CRITERIA ARE NOW MET. I doubt it.

Hold your fire, and then BUY BUY BUY when the VIX,VXN, and Trin peak.

That works for me. You do have to be around to do it that way.

Another way, pick your sales prices, set out your traps otherwise known as orders, and see which market maker takes your bait.

Seriously.

Or follow the great and powerful Cramer assiduously.

We are investors. I can assure you BUFFET, CUBAN and like minded investors have known their buying prices for weeks.

They had NOT been buying. They are either nibbling or calling for the bunker buster ammunition to be loaded. Or both.

There should be no complaints about losing 20% in a volatile stock. As noted initially, if it crashes, double the position. That is no time to sell a very promising company.

If you understand ADC, then you know why I recommend IMGN.

If you have to look up ADC at this point, you may just want to buy the SPY.

What do we do when we see our stocks at the lower end of the range?

BUY BUY BUY TSLA

ahead of earnings.

Most often stocks in a good financial position will go to the TOP of their range at some point after visiting the bottom of the range.

HOLD YOUR FIRE

WAIT FOR THE DAY OF THE REALLY BIG SELLOFF.

THE PERTURBATIONS OF THE MARKET ARE GOING TO REVEAL

MUCH MORE VOLATILITY.

Look for a VIX around 30-40.

Vix 23, up 47%

Lock and load all munitions, fire when there is the most panic, it could be as fast as a fifteen minute turnaround from THE LOW, at any point in the next two weeks.

More likely next Tuesday. If things continue wobbling downward this week.

Bad Friday, begets worse Monday and then a crescendo turnaround Tuesday.

There is no way to tell for sure. VIX,TRIN, AND VXN are great contrarion indicators however.

It's been awhile since a real sell off, I would fire at will at a VIX of 35 or higher.

That is a very fast moving indicator.

If you have no clue what that says, just buy the SPY every month, this is not something you learn with real money.

Not that long ago the turnaround was marked by the frantic pace of traders on the floor of the NYSE.

Then they went to a much more electronic trading system.

Oh well, that was an easy signal to grasp.

This feels like 2000 and 2008. The first leg down was not the buying opportunity.

There is definitely going to be time to act.

In 2008, it was March 2009. It was similar in 2000.

Ahem, excuse me, the market is ah, not doing well in the premarket.

China Russia trade war, Ford is cut to the tune of a billion by the trade war. Shiller PE higher than in 1929. ( Really)

As Shiller noted, the values can stay over inflated for a long time.

Eventually they correct.

And usually it is violent.

When it is violent, there is almost always time. One panic begets another.

Trump is blaming the Fed. This is terrible for the markets.

I have not looked at the premarket in a long time. Traders need that.

Or folks who were thinking of firing all the ammunition.

Next stop, Cramer's link on the sell off.

Best read that one. It is quick.

Your garden variety sell off wait for the VIX to hit 35-40.

Your industrial strength sell off, just be patient and tune in to Cramer.

tesla model 3 is now the top selling luxury car.

As a result Mercedes announced it will only sell trucks.

In other words, it is equally likely that Tesla and Mercedes are going out of business.

I actuall try not to watch the overall market, because i usually do not care.

However, a pause in the downward movement should be viewed with skepticism.

https://stockcharts.com/freecharts/gallery.html?$RUT

If you want to know where the market is going, look at the index for the Russell 2000.

And so we are entering bear market territory three weeks before the election.

ordinarily, i would say that it is a bad idea to take money from the middle class and give it to the rich. It is generally a bad idea to arbitrarily take a billion dollars away from Ford. In that setting (where Ford is considering becoming an suv and truck company) multinational companies will probably report crappy numbers.

The Fed

The Fed moves incrementally. So all the Fed needs to do is stop going up and the fed stress is done.

However tariffs are causing inflation.

The Commerce secretary says the 10% increase in Chinese imports ( scheduled to become 25% in December) is a small part of the market.

Oh really?

When you have this many moving parts, you need experts with powerful computers to figure it out.

Then you have the Donald. The Donald is always sure.

But Little D came out and said, now Ford can make their cars at home.

Ford said, we cannot afford to do that, and announced a billion in losses.

Only the shadow knows just what happened to all those parts jostled by the tariffs.

While on the subject, if China and the US CRASH as IS happening yet again in the US, WHO blinks first on trade?

There is a trade war. Who will blink first. If i was planning the trade war i would say, run your computers hot.

We have to even out the playing field of trade. Figure out a way to do that, and tell me why it is going to work. (Or not)

The Donald is running the world flying solo on his first plane ride.

And then we have Mueller.

1300 cases of the Donald laundering money.

And then the obvious collusion, I really cannot bring myself to list the ten categories of crimes committed by the Trump mafia.

Medium sized banks are generally the best capitalized.

Someone I know did something on a lark for $10800. And the answer is, No, I would not think of making a $10800 point. At least not until I hit the lottery.

This is quite a different ballpark.

"In August, Musk tweeted he was taking Tesla private for $420 a share in an apparent joking reference to the marijuana celebration on April 20"

That is your $40 million ballpark.

Is this true? It is over, it does not matter, the adults have now reigned in the adolescent Edison.

It does make for a good post, but i do not think it is true.

In other news, Elon showed off what a drivetrain with ONE MILLION MILES on it looks like.

You are going to be able to afford a car like this because it will last your lifetime, with restorations of the interior, brakes, and a battery every 20 years or so.

Tesla Sales Soaring, Competition Failing
Oct. 16, 2018 11:34 AM•TSLA
Summary
Tesla reaches No. 4 best selling passenger car in the US and should pass Toyota Camry in Q4 to become the No. 1 selling passenger car in the US.
Tesla has ~90% of the US EV market space.
Tesla deliveries in Q3 are double the deliveries in Q2.
Tesla sales are projected to grow from $4B last quarter to $6.78B this quarter. Net profit in Q3 is likely.
Legacy auto companies may suffer an unexpectedly rapid collapse in sales. This collapse may already be underway.

I did not write that.

What do you know? The Tesla Model 3 is about to become THE best selling car in the US.

FIRST THE US, THEN THE WORLD.

BUY BEFORE EARNINGS, AND ESPECIALLY AROUND 250.

NOTE THE sales COLLAPSE of the legacy car makers.

The top - seeking alpha article today.

Ditto these comments.

second leg down coming at some point.

assess for possible buys as this leg plays out.

There is no hurry.

WATCH THE RUSSELL 2000 , $RUT, for signs of the next larger market move.

Monitor the VIX, VXN, and TRIN.

An intraday really large spike in those three would be the buy sign.

IN THIS CASE THAT MAY VERY WELL BE A TRADABLE EVENT ONLY.

BEWARE.

Certainly if your BUFFETT alarm rings, just buy.

Book value to sales ratio.

If this sounds like a foreign language just buy the SPY every month and do not look at the market.

Period.

And there it was. The beginning of the next leg down.

The Russell IMO is pointing to a bear market. I am going with that.

Jp morgan says the technicsl selloff is 80% over.

Technical and fundamental reasons back this sell off.

Only pigs get slaughtered. Bears and bulls make money.

I have not heard anyone else cone out with a similar prognosis on the selloff.

There are HISTORIC fundamental reasons for a huge selloff.

Excesses do not always get washed out in obe sell off.

The Russell has led the way for a long time.

Lets go with the Russell. It is already DEEP below the 200day moving average.

AND ON ITS RECENT BOUNCE STAYED WELL BELOW THE 200DAY ma.
