IBD/TIPP poll out, 33% approval rating for Trump

IBD had Trump +2 nationally right before the election

Nearly half (49%) said the league should punish those athletes, while 46% said it shouldn't.

More than three-quarters of conservatives (79%) favor punishing those athletes, but just 17% of liberals do.

Generationally, support for punishing those athletes climbs with age, with only 35% of millennials backing punishment, compared with 46% of Gen-Xers, 56% of young boomers, 58% of old boomers, and 62% of those over age 71.

Regionally, enforcing the national anthem guideline gets its strongest support from rural Americans (63% of whom say the athletes should face disciplinary action), and the least support among urban dwellers (41%).

By gender, the split is 55% men vs. 44% of women who favor enforcing the policy.

Meanwhile, a 33% say they're less likely to watch NFL games because of the protests, nearly three times as many as say they're more likely to watch (12%). Fifty-four percent say it makes no difference.

Morning Consult tracks Trump's popularity state by state, month by month

he still has Appalachia, the Deep South, the Mountain States and the Bread Basket. the West Coast and Northeast are gone and the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest are going away; the thing is, these places are where most of our people live.

if you could make PA three states, the southwestern portions that aren't the city of Pittsburgh would still have very high approval ratings, the Southeast would have a very low approval rating, and the T would be showing huge cracks for Trump.

That's nice, show me the counties.

So the problem you point out is that the electoral college flattens those so called coastal elites a bit to assure representation of the heartland (my version is the Appalachians through the Rockies more or less), but in the current moment it is the coasts that have the Americans and are held hostage by middle America.. I guess that PA has sort of become that way via gerrymandering where Pennsyl'bama dealt the big cities a blow.

Harvey Weinstein is one sick fucker.

One cannot ignore the hypocrisy of the Right, however, calling for Weinstein's head (as well as leading Democrats who enjoyed his support) while simultaneously fully supporting our sexual assaulter in chief (who, BTW, is also on tape admitting to it).

People seriously hate Penn State fans for Sandusky/Paterno, a tragic situation they had no knowledge of and certainly no control over. We should be legit pissed at them for Trump

When reading this Washington Post article about the danger of the Trump White House's response to criticism my brain was thinking "Onion", but it actually brings to light some sad facts of the double standard that the administration demands. Sure it is a fun quip to say: "President Trump, as the White House will often remind us, is a counterpuncher. You hit him; he hits back twice as hard. You bring a knife; he brings a bazooka." However the narrative that Donald can demeans, condemn without foundation, and create any form of chaos from his position of power, but to oppose is somewhere between unamerican and criminal is not humorous in the least.

last month's F&M poll

Bucks may be the most 'for' him yet since it started from a higher place, but most of the Philly burbs hates him at this point. not sure if there have been any county-level polls of any consequence..I would think they'd be getting pretty iffy as far as validity

i've been told that the neighborhood i live in now used to have a KKK contingent. there's a reason our suburbs came to be the way they did. most of that generation has died off here but a few remain. apparently our next door neighbor who is 90something years old made some anti-black comment to my wife for no reason.
