I was driving back from nashville and listened to much of it. I thought he was evasive when it came to much of the important topics. He used the word appropriate a lot, which is of course pretty subjective. For example, when asked if he would make sure Mueller had everything he needed for the investigation, he said he would make sure he had everything appropriate. When asked if he would let the committee know if a sitting president asked him to end an investigation, he said he would tell the committee everything appropriate. I know people getting confirmed always try to not get pinned down on anything, but there were some worrying moments in there imo. The fact that his firm has ties to russian energy companies didn't make me feel very good either. He's probably fine as everyone was falling all over themselves to congratulate him on his awesomeness, but I hope he's watched closely.

Can't put up a barrier against someone if that someone isn't known to be connected to the problem. Like I said, he's probably fine and he has a good reputation, but I'm not taking anything for granted at this point. Not everyone Putin has controlled are idiots like the Trump team. The russian energy connection is worrying given that this whole thing is likely tied to russian energy development and money laundering..

To your point, the only GOP setbacks for house and senate members have been those who have opposed Trump. The message is shut up and get in line. No matter what outage you and I feel, there is the whole chunk of America that is 100% bought in. They are still parroting things that the President says as fact, even after the statements are completely debunked.
