Trump responded via twitter this morning about Flynn

@realDonaldTrump

Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!

the Billings Gazette came out in support of the idea of mail-in ballots for Montana's special election for the US House:

County commissioners and election administrators in 54 of Montana’s 56 counties have asked for state permission to conduct the May 25 special U.S. House election in the most secure, most cost-effective manner possible. The Montana Senate overwhelmingly agreed. But this week, 11 House Republicans on one committee voted to kill Senate Bill 305, which would give counties the option of mailing ballots to all voters for the May 25 election.

Despite what some GOP legislators have said, there is no evidence of partisan advantage in an all-mail-ballot election. SB305 isn’t a “one size-fits-all” proposal, it allows each county to choose whether to open all the polls as now required for federal elections or to mail ballots to all voters.

Mail ballot elections have been conducted securely and successfully in Montana for 30 years. Yellowstone County alone has held 24 all-mail-ballot elections in the past 10 years. All our city and school elections are conducted with all-mail ballots. Only elections for federal office still require opening polls.

some of the official supposedly against it actually mailed their own ballots in for this past November election.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Pence cast a tie-breaking Senate vote Thursday to pass legislation that will allow states to withhold federal funds from Planned Parenthood and other health care providers that perform abortions.

The measure, which now goes to President Trump for his signature, dismisses an Obama-era rule banning states from denying federal funds to such organizations.

Pence's vote was needed to break a 50-50 tie. Republicans Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska broke with their party, voting against the measure.

What happens is Planned Parenthood performs something for a woman, such as a cancer screening. It then sends off a bill to the government, who reimburses PP for that service. This is how everything works. Now, they will simply not be reimbursed and so they will be unable to perform the service for the woman, who likely is using PP as their main medical provider.

Mike Pence is not a good person and the people that voted for his bill are either bad people, misinformed, or being entirely disingenuous.

It is the first. The purpose of this legislation is for women to die.

NAFTA draft letter to Congress has a few modest tweaks:

The eight-page draft was circulated to leaders of the congressional committees that have oversight on trade. It included references to seeking open-ended authority to apply tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods if the countries do not make significant concessions.

The draft also includes some moderate proposals that signal the domestic political reality that Democratic votes in Congress will be needed if a renegotiated NAFTA can pass. The draft includes Democratic priorities that are a holdover of the Obama administration's negotiations of the scuttled Trans-Pacific Partnership, which included Mexico and Canada. The provisions, which were not favored by Republicans, would require increasing labor standards and wages, and force more stringent environmental protections that U.S businesses would be subject to as well.

The existence of some of the core framework of Obama's TPP has set some anti-free traders on edge, especially after Trump pledged to scrap the deal in its entirety, which effectively happened anyway when Congress refused to take it up in Obama's final year in office.

The draft also makes no mention of currency valuation or manipulation, another Trump campaign target. When countries take steps to push down the value of their currency, that makes their goods cheaper and more profitable in foreign markets.

Having now read the attached letter from Flynn's counsel, I am far less optimistic that anything damaging to Trump, et al is going to come out of Flynn's testimony.

Flynn's immunity request was worth it just to ignite drumpf's hyperbolic & revealing response, given his own on-the-record remarks about the 'meaning' of immunity grants

Following shocking news Friday that Clinton campaign chair John Podesta participates in weird occult rituals involving semen, breast milk and menstrual blood, it’s important to revisit information relayed by Clinton insider Larry Nichols last year in which he claimed Hillary regularly attended witch gatherings during Bill’s presidency.

well it has part of the statement

Gen. Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit. ... No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch-hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution," Robert Kelner, Flynn's lawyer, said in a statement late Thursday.

the bolded part is what trader is likely referring to

Clearly I've been gotten to. Anyway, here is the text from the statement (apologies for my previous failure):

Statement by Robert Kelner
Counsel to Lt. General Mike Flynn (Retired)

General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit. Out of respect for the Committees, we will not comment right now on the details of discussions between counsel for General Flynn and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, other than to confirm that those discussions have taken place. But it is important to acknowledge the circumstances in which those discussions are occurring.

General Flynn is a highly decorated 33-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He devoted most of his life to serving his country, spending many years away from his family fighting this nation’s battles around the world. He was awarded four Bronze Stars for actions in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the war on terror. He received the Legion of Merit twice, and the Defense Superior Service Medal four times. He is a recipient of the Defense Department’s Distinguished Service Award and the Intelligence Community Gold Seal Medallion for Distinguished Service, as well as numerous other decorations.

Notwithstanding his life of national service, the media are awash with unfounded allegations, outrageous claims of treason, and vicious innuendo directed against him. He is now the target of unsubstantiated public demands by Members of Congress and other political critics that he be criminally investigated. No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution.

I don't know. Sounds like it could also be a lawyer's statement from a lawyer who doesn't know what Flynn would reveal.
