World Series Game 5 Thread: Switch to NO/ATL at 8:30!

Postby VoxOrion » Mon Nov 02, 2009 22:29:16

See, this is a really nice turn of events here. Get Girardi to put every one of his pitchers out on the mount, make them throw lots of pitches, pee in their lemonade, etc.

I agree, take Lee out now. I don't think there is anything the Phillies can do that would cause them to lose this game. Literally.

That swing looked like Gardner was trying to block someone from hitting him with a machete. Great play with that weird spin

Lee goes as far as he can in this game. Period.

It's not necessarily from a good place that I feel this way, sadly, but I've known since around 3 o'clock this afternoon that the Phillies were going to win this game. The Yankees players are now halfway back to New York and planning their post-WFC photo-ops and endorsement deals, etc. Hopefully the Phillies can make this lack of concentration cost them for two more games. I believe in Pedro anyway.

Plus this is the end. It's exciting to talk about games six and seven and all but I think the focus needs to be on doing every crazy assed thing you have to do right now until the last pitch of the game. I don't think you can afford to be worried about next game if you're the Phillies. A lot can happen in five innings.
