I'm sure it's in the thread at some point but keith law tweet from last night that had me chuckling:

keithlaw

Meanwhile, Jason Knapp just reached for the remote to turn up the volume and shredded his labrum.

if either one of 1) us WINNING or 2) his brilliant double play

don't happen, I am still so pissed at Rollins for his dumb ass brunt

Actually, I think the bunt was a good idea. It was just poorly executed. A half decent bunt would have gotten Rollins on base. Given that CC is a good pitcher, it's at least worth a try. Jimmy got on base twice last night. He didn't have a terrible game.

It reminded me of an Andy Reid onside

Except that it doesn't give the opponent great field position if it fails.

It was so enjoyable to see Lee having a good time that it made the game really, absolutely fun to watch. Everything was going his way, although he missed the first two behind the back attempts. I mean really, a ho-hum and a behind the back catch in your first world series appearance? I also liked that he dropped the F-bomb when Rollins threw it away.

Utley being just so matter of fact jacking two after being ask ed if he is hurt, how hurt is he, etc. was awesome.

Now that these two set the tone it is time for the rest of the team get going. The Yankees are to professional to get rattled, but I have to think that CC has to be having some doubts when he pitches against the Phis.

All the team needs to go is play .500 baseball from here on out!
yawn

Also, hope this hasn't already been discussed to death, I thought that was one of the best umped games I've ever seen. There were a few homercentric quibbles, but I can't remember a ball/strike call I found egregious

Probably not rattled, per se, but their overall vibe last night looked awful

I mostly agree but was mad about a strike two on Utley late

Yeah the Marte v. Utley at-bat, the Fox Trax or whatever didn't indicate a single strike being thrown. Close pitches that weren't that bad, but still funny to see 5 pitches out of the zone on the replay after a K looking
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

The Phillies are truly cool, calm and collected and the Yankees are trying to give the appearance of being the same, but I'm not buying it at all.

Not sure how often this happens in a game, but no left fielder for either team made a play the entire night...

Did any outfielder for the Phillies make a play?

I'm sure I didn't get a great impression from the tv, but Yankees Stadium looked like a set from a sci-fi B movie

Yeah, I'm not fond of the look either. Both that stadium, and Citi Field, have a morbidness about them.
