Bronx, NY -- Alex Rodriguez struck out just five times in the postseason leading up to the World Series, but in one game he managed to nearly double that total, and moreover re-establish himself as a choking choker.
We were all fooled. What we thought was a sneak preview of player waiting to become a World Series icon was really just a mirage, and now we're all left thirsty at an empty oasis. I don't know what that means, but what I do know is that he has once again become an albatross.
You can still see Cliff Lee's curveballs slicing across the strike zone, and with it chipping away at A-Rod's facade. Yeah, yeah, that's another terrible metaphor, but what the $#@!? I'm not the one who struck out three times Wednesday.
