I don't believe I've ever had the urge to steal anyone's identity before, but damn if I don't feel like it now.

So, I realize the odds are so stacked against it that there's not a whole lot of reason to hope for it, but ... if the Yankees win, but need 7 to do it ...

Game 1: Burnett
Game 2: Sabathia on 3 days
off
Game 3: Pettitte
Game 4: Gaudin?/Joba?/Somebody
Game 5: Sabathia on 3 days? or Burnett
off
Game 6: Burnett or Sabathia on full rest
Game 7: Pettitte

"Only" 48 pitches through three. That's actually pretty hard to do while giving up five hits and two walks.

The double plays have saved him.

Pretty wild that Game 2 of the WFS could be Hamels vs. Burnett and nobody will have any idea whatsoever of what type of performance either will have. Shutout? Out after 4? Who knows?

Would you start Hamels game 2 primarily because of this? If Hamels is on you have a great chance to win. If he's off AND Burnett is off, you still have a great chance to win.

I don't have the slightest idea WTF to do with Hamels. I think I'd rather have Pedro in Game 2, but there's something to be said for throwing our Who Knows? guy against theirs.

I want to play the Yankees after they have to go 7.

First, winning the WFC is great and all, but beating the Royals and Rays, and facing the Orioles and Blue Jays? Sorry. I want the Phillies to beat the mother effing Yankees, not the Los Angeles Angels of Your Mom's House in Anaheim.

Second, I don't want to face a "surging play for the dead guy" team in the Angels. No need for that.

Third, I don't want the Phillies flying all over the place, day off or not.

That was bizarre. And where, exactly, was security?

Why Burnett scares me: He's managed to throw five scoreless innings in a row after his first-inning clusterfuck. And his pitch count is incredibly low for being so bad early.

Why he doesn't scare me:

Rollins, Victorino, Utley, Howard, Werth, Ibanez, Chooch

Bases loaded with Yankees. ARod up. With their season on the line, I think the Angels just went to Darren Oliver.

Wow.

edit: was teixeira. And he doubled the bases clear.

Feel bad for Lackey, but he's definitely got a screw loose, & it doesn't mqke him a nutty-cuddly guy
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)
