GAME 3 10-11-2009 33 DEGREES AND 3RD TIMES THE CHARM

Postby CalvinBall » Mon Oct 12, 2009 03:42:00

Another thing, Phillies fans are dumb too. Some drunk morons kept doing Eagles chants after the game as we were hurded out of Coors Field. The Phillies just won an absurd game to take a 2-1 lead in the playoffs. Choke one something, dicks.

Last thing, was the ump as bad on TV as he seemed from a mile away in center field in the rockpile?

Yes, horrendous
The Stairs AB especially

Pitch 2 and 4 were the called strikes

Ha I noticed on my photobucket that this isn't the first time this happened to Stairs this year

I wonder if that was the same umpire.

Not saying it should have ANYTHING with calling balls and strikes, but when you have the reputation of being a HR ball hitter off the bench with anything in the wheel house, do pitchers tend to get those calls BECAUSE the hitter is looking for something in that zone?

Sounds stupid I know, but just a theory.

It definitely wasn't consistent. Rockies fans booed at balls 3 feet off the plate.

Yeah, those stadiums really suck. Give me a bottleneck every day.

what sucks is being up till 1:30, getting 5 hours of sleep, and missing most of the game.

at least i had a live boxscore on while getting ready to leave for work and "saw" the winning run score.

and it was probably better for my health that i missing the bottom of the ninth while cycling to work.

still, playoff start times totally suck over here.

checking out scores when I was in italy was very disorientating. I kept wondering 'fuck, how does phorever cope?' you have my sympathies.

What a hard fought win though. I have no voice right now.

Do it again in a little over 12 hours.

Can't believe I actually liked Coors Field before tonight. I missed Utley's HR because of the ridiculous cluster$#@! of people trying to get into the ballpark.
Another day, another box of stolen pens.

Kudos to all of you who stayed up ... I went to bed at 11.30 when it was 3-3, woke Vox up when Cooch made it 4-3 (and got yelled at), and then finally drifted off when it was 4-4. Woke up at 5.45 and my first thought was that I should get downstairs and see what happened.

Yeah, I was surprised too. I think it was a psychological thing. a one o'clock start was usually around 6 pm here, so I could usually catch the end of it in relatively relaxed circumstances. but on the continent, only one hour later, and there was no question of staying up till one for a 7 pm start, and afternoon games fell really awkwardly in terms of evening meals and getting monkeywiz down to bed.
