It's funny because he generally doesn't bother me as much as he seems to bother you guys. I sometimes get tired of hearing about it, too. I think the reason it bothered me today is because I know they didn't have the best relationship. But I'll take it at face value that he's trying to do his job and put on a good face. It just sounded a bit too easy for him, unlike LA and others who are also trying to put on a good face and are struggling with it.
I agree with every word of this. I thought Wheels was almost tasteless, and usually I think he's alright enough (as someone said, 1,000,000 times better than by-the-numbers generic Tom McCarthy). But I'll take the word of people who say this is just how he deals with these things.
He wasn't tasteless; that's just silly to say. The man worked with Kalas and traveled with him for 30 years. He knew him and how he'd want people to react far better than any of us, despite what we think of him as a broadcaster
I only heard the radio, and I came in in the middle of the inning, and Wheels was complaining about missing a meal...
But it turned out this was evidently one of Harry's rules never to break: eat before a broadcast.

I dunno. CBP isn't really shallow in that part of the park.
