I was worried that there would be a lot of mean stuff being said about McCarthy and Wheels. Woody is right, today isn't the day. Not that anyone did or anything.

It seemed lke Harry and Wheels had been getting along pretty well actually.
Do it again!

Oh my yes. I got up at 2 in the morning or whenever it was the games started (Italy time). Those games were fabulous. Armed Forces Radio was never better.

Without checking, I think it was like 4 extra inning games, right?

Yes. 5 games -- 4 extra innings tilts. Amazing really.

I just noticed that Coste is starting again. I guess Marson is just filler.

At least one run scored in all but two of the 8 half-innings so far.

It's funny because he generally doesn't bother me as much as he seems to bother you guys. I sometimes get tired of hearing about it, too. I think the reason it bothered me today is because I know they didn't have the best relationship. But I'll take it at face value that he's trying to do his job and put on a good face. It just sounded a bit too easy for him, unlike LA and others who are also trying to put on a good face and are struggling with it.

I agree with every word of this. I thought Wheels was almost tasteless, and usually I think he's alright enough (as someone said, 1,000,000 times better than by-the-numbers generic Tom McCarthy). But I'll take the word of people who say this is just how he deals with these things.

C'mon, Wheels was holding back tears after he said five-six words in the opener.

He wasn't tasteless; that's just silly to say. The man worked with Kalas and traveled with him for 30 years. He knew him and how he'd want people to react far better than any of us, despite what we think of him as a broadcaster
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?
